Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: your first and last name, email address, account identifier, sign-up source, and product interests. If you use Google Sign-In, Google provides your name and email address so we can create and authenticate your ParNotFar account.
• Golfer profile information: information you choose to enter, such as display name, handicap, seven-iron carry distance, preferred tee, and trajectory preference.
• Course and strategy activity: course searches, reports viewed, saved strategies, and other choices you make while using the Services.
• Communications: information you include when you contact us for support, feedback, or a privacy request.

Information collected automatically

• Device and log information: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs collected by us or our hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Approximate location: Course Report uses an IP-based location service to estimate a city, region, latitude, and longitude so it can show nearby courses. It does not request your device’s precise GPS location.
• Usage information: events such as account creation, profile completion, course searches, report views, and saved strategies, together with an account or session identifier, course identifier, timestamp, app version, and limited event details. Some of these events are also sent to Google Analytics so we can understand which pages and features are used.
• Browser storage: we use local storage and session storage for sign-in sessions, email-request throttling, pending sign-up details, golfer profiles, and saved strategies. Some golfer-profile and strategy information may remain only in your browser unless a feature tells you it will be saved to your account.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
• provide Course Report, nearby-course search, maps, weather context, golfer profiles, and saved strategies;
• personalize and improve the Services and understand which features are useful;
• send secure sign-in links and service-related communications;
• respond to support, feedback, and privacy requests;
• protect the Services, users, and ParNotFar from fraud, abuse, and security threats; and
• comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to:

• Service providers that help us operate the Services, including Cloudflare for hosting and security and Supabase for authentication, database, and account infrastructure.
• Analytics providers, including Google Analytics, which receive technical and usage information such as page views, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and allowlisted product events. We use this to understand how the Services are used. We do not use Google Analytics for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we configure the tag with IP anonymization enabled.
• Identity providers, including Google when you choose Google Sign-In. In that case, your browser is redirected to Google so you can authorize ParNotFar to receive your Google account name and email for account creation and sign-in.
• Course, location, map, and weather providers when a feature needs their services. These currently may include ipapi for approximate IP-based location, OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service for location searches, Open-Meteo for weather data, and Google Maps for map imagery and interaction.
• Font and content providers, including Google Fonts, when your browser requests their resources.
• Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
• A successor organization in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

These third parties may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser connects to them. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms.

Google user data

If you choose Google Sign-In, ParNotFar accesses your Google account name and email address through Google’s OAuth sign-in flow. We use that information only to create, authenticate, and manage your ParNotFar account and to communicate about the account or Services.

ParNotFar does not use Google Sign-In data for advertising, and does not request access to Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services.

We store the resulting ParNotFar account record in our authentication and database providers. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate authentication and the Services or as required by law. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing hello@parnotfar.com.

Sale, advertising, and browser signals

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

Because we do not engage in those activities, Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track” signals do not change how the Services operate today. If our practices change, we will update this policy and honor legally required opt-out signals.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can update certain account details from your account page and clear browser-local golfer profiles or saved strategies through your browser settings. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you by emailing hello@parnotfar.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we may retain information when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcing agreements.

Depending on where you live and whether a particular law applies, you may have additional rights, including rights to know about, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and to appeal a denied request. California residents may also have rights to opt out of sale or sharing and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including to provide an account, maintain security and business records, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by the type of information. Information stored only in your browser remains there until you clear it or your browser removes it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

International use

ParNotFar is based in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the “last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
